Nursery Update

Dear Parents,

Well, what an eventful week we have had! Thank you all for following the advice and guidance, getting your children tested if requested and for your ongoing support.

I would like to reassure you that we continue to follow stringent cleaning regimes in nursery as well as complying with all the guidance set out by the Scottish Government. Please can I remind all parents that face masks must be worn at drop off and pick up times and to follow the 2-metre social distancing rule.

Staff are unable to give feedback at the door but all information will be on your child’s daily diary. All these steps are in place to help reduce the risk of transmission.

If your child does display symptoms of COVID all members of the household must self-isolate until they receive a negative PCR test. This means if a child is sent home due to having symptoms, any other sibling in nursery must also go home with them. I know some parents are using Lateral Flow tests to test their children, however It is important to note that these tests are only for people without symptoms.

After getting your child tested, as long as their test result is negative, and your child has been free from a temperature for 48 hours then they are ok to return to nursery if they are well enough to do so. If your child has been tested due to a cough and their test result comes back negative, they are able to come back to nursery as long as they are well enough. All results must be emailed to nursery before returning.

Just a gentle reminder that Health Protection have advised us that If your child has symptoms of the virus and you decide not to get them tested, your child must self-isolate for 10 days and can return to nursery on the 11th day as long as they are well enough to do so and have no COVID related symptoms.

I sincerely hope we don’t have any further cases however if we do hear of any I will let you know immediately.

Summer Holidays

Thank you to all of you who have already told us the dates your child will be on holiday over the summer. If your child won’t be in nursery at any point over the summer and you have not already emailed me, please send Nic or myself an email of the dates so that I can update our registers.

Sheena and Jane are on holiday next week therefore the staff in your child’s room will take observations of their key children and will provide you with feedback on your child’s online journal.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Kind Regards,

Claire Allan
