Nursery Update

Dear Parents,

I hope you’ve all had a lovely week and enjoying the beautiful sunshine. Long may it continue. Just a few things for you this week.

Summer Trips

Our annual Summer trips to the beach this week have been a great success. The children have all had an amazing time and the weather definitely held out for us which was an added bonus! Please remember to check our nursery app for your child’s room update and photos from their trips this week.

I would like to thank you for all your support with our pick up and drop off times. Can I please just remind everyone staff have been instructed not to engage in conversation with parents at the door, this includes feedback at the end of the day. As always, staff will give regular feedback using the learning journals, but if there is any information we require or if you would like to inform us of anything to do with your child, please contact us via telephone or email myself or Nic and likewise if staff need to talk to you about your child we will contact you.

As a staff team we continue to take our lateral flow tests twice weekly, we socially distance from each other, our rigorous cleaning procedures continue and we wear face masks when not working with the children. The majority of staff have also received their first vaccination too which is great news!

Please can I just remind all parents if you would like anything taken home at the end of your child’s week to email us on the day.   It ensures staff has everything ready and therefore avoiding any delays which may result in queues of parents gathering.

Just a wee reminder that your child’s nursery bag must stay in nursery due to the potential transmission of COVID.  If you require anything sent home please email myself or Nic on their last day and we will have these ready for you at pick up time. If your child has brought in their own bag to nursery, the staff will send this home with you. If you bring in spare clothes can you just pop them into a plastic carrier bag and we will transfer them into your child’s nursery bag.

Pre School Graduation

We will hold a garden party for our Pre School Graduates in the Churchyard next Thursday 24th June as planned.  We will make sure this is a special day for them with lots of fun games, celebrations and party food for them to enjoy.  If your child is not in on Thursday they will of course be invited to come and join the party. You can drop them off at 2.30pm and collect them at 4.00pm. We will take lots of photos for you all to see.

We hope to have the actual graduation ceremony later in the summer in the hope that restrictions lift, enabling us to invite parents along.

To ensure our staff gain valuable experience with different age groups and strengthening the teams in each room, after consulting with Lauren, she will move to our Pre School team at Old Coates House Nursery as part of her professional development. If Lauren is your child’s key worker you will be informed of your new key worker next week.

Sadly, Angelina will be leaving us as she has taken up a post closer to her home. I would like to thank Angelina for all of her hard work and commitment to Early Days Nursery.

Congratulations to our cook Jamie who will be moving to Nairn and into his lovely new home. We will miss you both lots but wish you well in your new adventures!

I would like to welcome Kevin to our team who will be taking over Jamie’s post as our new cook.

I would also like to welcome Casey to our Pre School team, Casey is our new apprentice who joined us last week and is settling in well.

I have detailed below how our staff team will look going forward:

Kay is on holiday next week therefore the staff in your child’s room will take observations of her key children and will provide you with feedback on your child’s online journal.

As always if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Kind Regards

Claire Allan
