Can You Cook Up A Storm?

We are an award winning nursery group, who pride ourselves on the quality of our staff and the childcare we provide. Ensuring that every child is nurtured and nourished by the food we provide is key to this.  Our menus incorporate both traditional and innovative dishes, and champion the relationship between a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle. This is an 8 month temporary post and either full or part time hours are available.

As a cook with us you will be responsible for ensuring that the food we provide is age appropriate and inclusive of cultural, personal and medical needs. In addition to preparing meals, you will be responsible for stock management (ordering and stock rotation) and for ensuring that health and safety standards in the kitchen are maintained. You will work alongside a dedicated team of teachers and practitioners and will have close interaction with the children therefore the ability to communicate well with both children and adults is important.

Requirements:

  1. Valid Food Hygiene Certificate

  2. Experience of working in a nursery or other childcare setting (desirable not essential)

This post is considered regulated work with children and/or protected adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  You will be required to join the PVG Scheme.
